Healthy nutrition at ibms

A balanced diet is the foundation for concentration, well-being, and healthy development.

During shared lunchtime, we also encourage independence and the joy of trying new foods — in the spirit of Montessori education. It is not uncommon for initial “sauce skeptics” to become enthusiastic fans asking for seconds.

We collaborate with an organic catering company that uses only fresh, predominantly regional ingredients. Our menu is based on the recommendations of the German Nutrition Society ((Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ernährung)) and the optimix® concept developed by the Research Institute of Child Nutrition ((Forschungsinstituts für Kinderernährung)) in Dortmund.

  • What is particularly important to us:
A balanced vegetarian alternative is offered every day.
  • We consciously avoid pork.
  • Our desserts contain no industrial sugar and are sweetened with honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup instead.

Fresh Variety – Every Day

Our kitchen stands for variety. Children explore diverse flavours — from classic dishes to meals with international influences. A mildly spiced curry has become one of many children’s absolute favourites.

All children have access to fresh fruit and vegetables daily. Our salad bar allows them to choose independently and develop healthy eating habits naturally and confidently.

Morning and Afternoon Snacks

In addition to breakfast at home, we offer a healthy mid-morning snack prepared fresh each day at ibms. This includes wholegrain bread with a variety of fresh toppings, fresh vegetables, and muesli.

In the afternoon, children are offered fresh fruit and other light, healthy options.

Mineral water is, of course, available to all children throughout the day.

Choosing the right school is an important decision.
Our admissions team will be happy to support you personally.
