Admissions overview

ibms welcomes families who value Montessori education, bilingual learning and an international mindset. Admissions are conducted with care to ensure that the school environment remains balanced, supportive and aligned with Montessori principles.

Our Admissions Philosophy

At ibms, we take the time to ensure that:

  • each child feels safe, seen, and supported
  • families understand the Montessori approach
  • each learning group remains balanced and harmonious

Our goal is to build a long-term partnership between the school, the child, and the family.

We warmly encourage parents to attend one of our information evenings and/or Open Days to gain a deeper understanding of our educational philosophy and school community.

Admission Without Montessori Backround

Children joining from non-Montessori kindergartens or schools are warmly welcomed at ibms. Previous experience with Montessori education is not a prerequisite for successful enrolment.

During the transition, teachers introduce students step by step to Montessori materials, independent work cycles, and classroom expectations. Academic progress in literacy, numeracy, and subject learning is carefully supported to ensure continuity.

With clear structures and consistent guidance, new students integrate quickly and confidently into both the academic
programme and the class community.

The admissions process runs until May of the respective calendar year. After this time, families will receive either an invitation to a meeting or a notification that no place is available.

Invitation to a Meeting
If a place becomes available for your child, families will be invited to a personal meeting and are very welcome to visit the facilities.

Final Decision and Contract Offer
If both parties agree that ibms is the right fit, families will subsequently receive a contract offer.

Admission to Entry Level and Primary 2-4

Initial Contact
Our Admissions Coordinator will contact families within one week after receiving the application to inform them whether a place is available.

Meeting with Parents
This is followed by an initial meeting with the parents and our Headmistress, providing a first opportunity to get to know the family and discuss mutual expectations.

Trial Period for the Child
The child is invited to spend several days at our school, taking part in classroom life and daily routines.

Follow-up Meeting and Decision
Parents receive a professional assessment of their child’s experience. If all parties feel confident that ibms is the right fit, a contract offer is made.

Choosing the right school is an important decision.
Our admissions team will be happy to support you personally.
